If you only have a weekend, or you have saved hard for that week away you want to have the snow. Here are our top tips for the best resorts in Europe offering almost guaranteed snow. The snow sure resorts are often at high altitude and offer skiing from early December or even late November to the start of April.

Obergurgl, Austria

Obergurgl sits within the Otzal vally and only 90 minutes from Innsbruch airport. Obergurgl has an excellent snow record and best or all there are few lift ques. The resort is only 20 minutes from the larger resort of Solden, but there is plenty on offer in in Obergurgl to keep and intermediate occupied.

Hintertux, Austria

Its high! Its also a glacier and only a short hop from Mayrhofen. The Hintertux is at the end of the Ziller valley and offer all year round skiing on the glacier topping out at 3000 meters.

Saas-Fee, Switzerland

Although quite a small resort, Saas Fee is an all-year round destination for Europeans. The village offers a relaxed atmosphere being car free.

Les Deux Alpes, France

As the name suggests, Les Deux Alpes is made up from 2 mountains. Over 50 years ago the 2 alpine pastures were connected to forma a ski resort. The terrain is extensive and mostly treeless terrain with plenty of sun on the south facing slopes.  The stats are impressive with 220km of groomed piste with a skiable elevation of 3600m and a drop of 2300m.
